Terms of Service

Last updated 11 October 2026

Draft

This is a draft prepared in good faith and has not been reviewed by a lawyer.

1. Agreement

These terms apply to your use of Requestway: the website, dashboard and ingest API at requestway.com and api.requestway.com (the "service"). By creating an account or sending data to the ingest API you agree to them. If you use the service for a company, you confirm you can bind that company, and "you" means the company too.

2. The service

Requestway receives reports of x402 payment events from your applications, through our open-source packages or your own code, and shows you analytics about them: earnings, per-route activity, failures and observe-mode demand.

Requestway is not a payment service. We do not process, hold, transfer, settle or have access to any funds, and we are not a party to any payment between you and anyone who pays you. The service is free. There are no paid plans.

3. Accounts and keys

  • You must give accurate sign-up information and keep it current. You must be at least 16, or the age of digital consent where you live if higher.
  • You are responsible for your account and everything done with it and with your project keys. Keep keys secret; treat them like passwords. Regenerate a key at once if you think it has leaked.
  • Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • send data you have no right to send, or data that identifies individuals beyond what the ingest format requires. In particular, do not put personal data, secrets or credentials into route labels, request ids, failure reasons or other free-text fields;
  • send payer or wallet identity to the service in any field;
  • use the service in connection with anything illegal, including fraud, money laundering, sanctions evasion or the sale of unlawful goods or services;
  • probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the service, or circumvent authentication, rate limits or other controls, except through a coordinated disclosure we have agreed to;
  • overload the service, send intentionally malformed data at volume, or use it to attack anyone else;
  • resell, white-label or present the service as your own, or scrape it;
  • use the service to build a competing product by copying it;
  • point the endpoint tester at any URL you do not operate or are not authorised to test, or use it to send traffic to third parties.

5. Rate limits and our right to restrict

The service is free and shared. We may set and change limits on request rate, batch size, event age, retention and number of projects, and may reject, drop or delay data that exceeds them. Current limits are in the install guide. We may suspend or restrict an account or key that we reasonably believe breaches these terms or threatens the service or other users, with notice where practical.

The endpoint tester spends only test tokens on public testnets, which have no monetary value, and is provided so you can check your own integration. We may cap, change or withdraw it at any time.

6. Your data

You keep all rights in the data you send. You give us permission to store, process and display it to provide the service to you, to keep the service secure and working, and as the Privacy Policy describes. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising. We discard query strings from resource URLs on arrival and keep raw events for 30 days. You can export or delete your data at any time from your account.

Where the events you send relate to identifiable people, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to send them to us.

7. Analytics, not accounting

Figures in Requestway are analytics. They are not financial records and must not be relied on for accounting, tax, audit, revenue recognition, reconciliation or any legal or regulatory purpose. Reporting is best-effort: the packages cap batches, drop events if delivery fails and never retry indefinitely, and events can be duplicated, delayed or lost. Amounts are reported by your application and are not verified on chain by us. Your wallet, your facilitator and the blockchain are the record of what you were paid.

8. Provided as is, with no uptime warranty

The service is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". We do not promise any level of availability, accuracy, completeness, durability or support, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.

Our packages are designed so that an outage of the service does not affect your application, but you are responsible for how you integrate them and for testing your own systems.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for any loss of profits, revenue, payments, data, goodwill or business opportunity, however caused;
  • our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100);
  • nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

You agree to indemnify us against claims by third parties arising from data you send us in breach of these terms or from your breach of the law.

10. Termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion removes your projects, keys, events and daily totals immediately and cannot be undone.

We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue the service we will try to give at least 30 days' notice by email so you can export your data. Sections 6 to 9 and 12 survive termination.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will email account holders at least 14 days before they take effect, unless a change is required sooner by law. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms; if you don't, delete your account.

12. Governing law

TODO (owner): choose the governing law and courts. These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION TO BE CONFIRMED], and disputes will be resolved in the courts of [VENUE TO BE CONFIRMED], except that consumers keep any protection the law of their country of residence gives them.
